Nine Central PA Places You & Your Dog Must Visit This Fall!

dog at restaurantAfter a hot and humid summer in Central PA, the weather is finally cooling off and it is more enjoyable for both us humans and our furry friends to enjoy more time outside. It is becoming more and more common to take our dogs with us to public places so we can enjoy time together. Many of our team members at Playful Pups Retreat love taking our dogs to restaurants, stores and out on walks at one of the many beautiful parks and nature trails in our area.  We are lucky to have a wide variety of dog friendly restaurants in Central PA that allow quiet, friendly dogs to hang out while you enjoy your meal with family or friends.

Here is a list of some of our favorite places located in the Hershey and Harrisburg areas. So, pack up the essentials, i.e. poop bags, water bowl, treats and a blanket, for your furry family member and enjoy some yummy food and drinks together.

I love taking one of my dogs with me whenever possible, but not all my dogs enjoy time in busy environments.  While us pet parents want to have our pups with us as much as possible, it can be overwhelming for some dogs and can lead to stress and anxiety. So, before you pack your pup’s “go bag”,  please make sure they feel comfortable and truly enjoy time out and about with you.  Some dogs prefer relaxing on the sofa at home to being out in a crowd of people. It is never good for a dog’s mental well-being to force them into a situation that causes them unnecessary stress, so consider what is best for them before venturing out.
